Before the war, she was considered the  Queen of the Yachting Fleet . She had been built to the maximum permitted size for this purpose and regularly won all the important races. This is all the more remarkable because Henry C. Taylor had actually ordered her as a comfortable cruising yacht for his family. But of course she also had to be as successful in regattas as her ambitious and demanding owner was in his business life.
